Buy with confidence
ZA Pupmarkets connects you directly with breeders. Puppy sales happen outside the platform, so a few minutes of caution goes a long way.
Never pay before you visit
Do not send deposits, 'reservation fees' or transport money for a puppy you have not met in person. Scammers often demand payment to 'secure' a puppy sight-unseen.
Always meet the mother
A responsible breeder will happily show you the puppies with their mother, at the place they are being raised. Refusal is a serious red flag.
Ask for health records
Vaccination cards, deworming history and any vet checks should be available and consistent with the puppy’s age.
Beware of pressure and low prices
‘Only one left, pay now’ urgency and prices far below the norm for the breed are classic scam tactics. Take your time.
Be careful with courier-only deals
Arranging a puppy by courier without visiting first is high risk. If you must, use a verifiable, independent pet transport company, never one the seller insists on.
Get everything in writing
Agree on price, included vaccinations and any guarantees in a written message before paying anything.
📧 Email notifications
Our “Notify me” emails let you follow a breeder or a breed and get one email when a matching litter is listed. Signing up uses double opt-in: nothing is sent until you confirm your email, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe. We store your email address and consent time only to send these notifications — we never share or sell it, and unsubscribing removes your details immediately.
